The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B known as the earliest model of the third-generation Raspberry Pi. Additionally, it adds onboard wireless LAN & Bluetooth connectivity compared with the primary generation Raspberry Pi. This makes it ideal for powerful connected designs solution. Pi 3 Model B consists of a 1.2GHz 64-bit quad-core Arm Cortex-A53 CPU, has 1GB RAM, integrated 802.11n wireless LAN, and Bluetooth 4.1. This powerful credit-card-sized single-board computer often used for a wide range of applications. By maintaining the favored board format the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B provides a powerful processor, 10 times faster than the primary generation Raspberry Pi. Other features are Power over Ethernet (PoE) (with the add-on PoE HAT), USB boot, and network boot (an SD card is not any longer required).
The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B features a Broadcom BCM2837 SoC with a 1.2 GHz 64-bit quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor, with a 512 KB shared L2 cache. This makes the module approximately 80% faster than the Raspberry Pi 2 in parallelized tasks. Raspberry Pi 3 Model B features twice the RAM and away faster processor compared to Raspberry Pi. Pi 3 has two major upgrades. The primary may be a next-generation Quad-Core Broadcom BCM2837. It is 64-bit ARMv8 processor with a speed up to 1.2GHz compared to the previous 900MHz on the Pi 2. Whereas the second upgrade is the built-in BCM43143 WiFi chip, allowing the module to transmit wireless signals without additional peripherals. No more WiFi adapters.
By the function of onboard Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Raspberry Pi 3 provides an excellent solution for IoT. However, the addition of a WiFi & Bluetooth Antenna results in the shifting of ACT and PWR LEDs to the opposite side of the SD card slot.
