Mini 360 Step-Down Buck Converter Power Module is a compact-sized, highly efficient device. This module consists of an integrally molded power inductor and synchronous rectifier control chip. A mini 360step-down buck converter power module takes the higher input and converts it into lower output voltage, thus provides excellent line and load regulation. In this module, we use the MP2307DN buck converter chip for the efficient voltage reduction function. The MP2307 chip claims to have an integrated MOSFET which can provide cycle-by-cycle overcurrent protection and under-voltage lock-out. Mini 360 Step-Down Buck Converter Power Module operates at a switching frequency of 340 kHz thus allows small-sized filter components that require lower frequency.
The MP2307 provides an output of 1V-17V range, from an input voltage of 4.75V-23V, 1.8A current. It is an easy-to-use, nonsynchronous, step-down DC-DC converter with a wide input voltage range and capable of driving a maximum load up to 3A with high conversion efficiency up to 96%. Moreover, this module features thermal shutdown, current limit protection makes it suitable for a wide range of applications. In this module when the load current goes above 750mA in open-air caused the output to trip and cycle on-and-off, the overcurrent protection starts functioning.
This module will not live up to expectations on the 3A or 1.8A current delivery due to thermal limitations and is definitely not a power-efficient choice. This is because the module has high DC resistance or lossy inductance at the operating frequency. The module has four pads arranged at the corners for inputs makes the installation easier.
