MUR460 Power Rectifier designed as a high forward current and high reverse breakdown voltage capabilities diode. Basically, these types of diodes have the high current capacity with a maximum recurrent peak reverse voltage VRRM 600V. This diode is also known as the Power rectifier diode. MUR460 Power Rectifier series of devices designed explicitly for general-purpose high-voltage / high-current applications, high-voltage regulated power supplies, lighting circuits, temperature, and motor speed control circuits, uninterruptible power supplies, and battery chargers. Moreover, these power rectifier diode modules offer high thermal efficiency for long life and reliable product performance. Meanwhile, the Industry-standard S and A package sizes allow for a maximum output current of 200A for standard diodes.
A diode designed as a semiconductor device specifically acts as a one-way switch for current. It permits flow of current easily in one direction, but severely restricts current from flowing in the opposite direction. The two terminals of the diode known as the anode and cathode. The most common applications of diode includes converting AC to DC, isolating signals from a supply, and mixing signals. The 2 sides of the diode doped differently. One side is the “p-side”, this features a positive charge. The opposite side reffered as the “n-side”, this has a negative charge.
