The DAC0800 series is a monolithic 8-bit current-output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) with average settling periods of 100 nanoseconds. Monotonic performance across a 40 to 1 reference current range is feasible when utilized as a multiplying DAC. High compliance complementary current outputs on the DAC0800 series offer differential output voltages of 20 Vp-p with simple resistor loads. In most applications, greater than 1 LSB reference-to-full-scale current matching removes the need for full-scale trims, while non linearities of less than 0.1 percent over temperature reduce system error buildup.
The noise-isolated inputs can handle a wide range of logic levels. The device’s performance and attributes remained almost intact over the 4.5V to 18V power supply range, with power consumption of only 33 mW with 5V supplies, regardless of logic input levels. The DAC0800 is a straight replacement for the DAC-08, DAC-08A, DAC-08C, and DAC-08H, as well as the DAC-08A, DAC-08C, and DAC-08H.
The DAC0808 IC is utilized in applications that need digital-to-analog conversion. The chip was popular a decade ago, and it had a wide range of applications, but there are now many contemporary ICs that can perform DAC with superior resolution, speed, and efficiency. As a result, this gadget is mostly utilized for reference and novice applications. At the moment, microcontrollers with DAC features or DAC ICs with serial interface are favoured for advanced applications.
