74LS25 Dual 4 – Input NOR Gate IC belong to the 74XXYY IC series. The 74LS25 designed as a TTL (Transistor to Transistor Logic) that uses low power Schottky transistors. These Shottky transistors reduce the stored charge and offers higher switching speeds than with conventional bipolar transistors. The output of the IC always comes in TTL which makes it quite easy to function with other TTL devices and microcontrollers. The IC 74LS25 comes as smaller in size and offers much faster speed which makes it highly reliable in every kind of device. Operates at a supply voltage at a range between 4.75V and to a maximum of 5.25V. And the input logic levels to the device in ‘0’ (LOW) state is max. 0.8V and for ‘1’ (HIGH) state is min 2V.
Meanwhile, the Strobe input forces the output of the NOR gate to go high when the strobe is low. The strobe input in the IC used to ‘strobe’ or toggle the output. In short, this is the Low power Schottky family that uses TTL circuitry. These are quite fast in operations but consume more power than other logic families. 74LS25 Operates at a supply voltage of 7V. This IC is designed for operation over the full military temperature range of −0°C to 75°C. 74LS25 manufactured in 14−pin plastic PDIP wide body surface-mount packages.
A NOR gate designed as an OR gate followed by a NOT gate in a cascade model. The inclusive NOR (Not – OR) gate offers an output that is normally at logic level “1” and only goes “LOW” to a logic level “0” when any of its inputs are at logic level “1”. The Logic NOR Gate reffered as the reverse or complementary form of the inclusive OR gate.
