The Bluetooth TTL HC05 HC06 Compatible module is designed as the latest Bluetooth wireless serial cable. This updated version of the popular Bluetooth uses the HC – 05 / 06 modules which work as a serial pipe. Any serial data stream at a baud rate from 9600 to 115200 bps passed seamlessly from your microcontroller to your target. For this, an RS232 to TTL converter circuit or Arduino XBee USB Adapter needs to attach to a computer. Moreover, the remote unit is powered from 3.3 V up to 5 V via easy battery attachment. And also all signal pins on the remote unit are 3 V – 5 V tolerant. Hence eliminates the need for level shifting.  Highly recommended not to attach this device directly to a serial port. By either soldering a 6-pin header or individual wires, connections are made easier.
HC-05/ HC-06  based on Bluetooth SPP (Serial Port Protocol) module designed as Wireless Serial Communication allows use with any microcontroller. Both these module supports the UART protocol for easy transfer and receiving data wirelessly. HC-05module works as both Master and Slave Mode and easy switchable between these two modes. By default, Slave mode is configured. And the configured Modes changed using AT Commands.
Whereas HC-06 operates on slave mode. Used to establish short-range wireless data communication between two microcontrollers or systems. These modules work on Bluetooth 2.0 communication protocol and support UART protocol for easy transfer and receiving data wirelessly. So we can connect the module to any microcontroller or directly to a PC that has an RS232 port (UART interface). Both these serial port Bluetooth module features fully qualified Bluetooth V2.0+EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) 3Mbps with a complete frequency range from 2.402 GHz to 2.480GHz.
