IIC / I²C serial LCD adapter module for 16×2 and 20×4 LCDs—reduces wiring to two pins and supports Arduino and ESP32.
Description
The IIC / I²C Serial LCD Adapter Module is a convenient interface board that allows standard HD44780-based character LCDs (16×2, 20×4, etc.) to communicate using the I²C protocol. By converting parallel LCD signals into a simple two-wire interface, this module significantly reduces the number of GPIO pins required.
Using only SDA and SCL lines, the adapter makes LCD integration fast and clean, especially for projects with limited I/O pins. It typically features an onboard PCF8574 I²C I/O expander, adjustable contrast potentiometer, and backlight control jumper.
The module is fully compatible with Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi, STM32, and other microcontroller platforms, making it ideal for displaying sensor data, menus, system status, and messages in embedded and IoT applications.
