MG90S Mini Digital Servo is a 180° rotation servo is a compact-sized, lightweight, high power output servo motor. This servo made of metal gear for added strength and durability. This digital servo motor receives and processes PWM signals faster. It consists of an internal circuitry that provides high torque, holding power, and faster updates in response to external forces. Hence high performance and reliability of our servos have made it the ideal choice for many RC hobbyists.
In order to rotate the motor, just power the motor with +5V using the Red and Brown wire and send PWM signals to the Orange color wire. Hence we need something to generate PWM signals to make this motor work. For this, we use something like a 555 timer or other Microcontroller platforms like Arduino, PIC, ARM, or even a microprocessor like Raspberry Pie.
MG90 Motor offers 2.2kg/cm torque providing high performance to the system. Here 2.2kg/cm torque indicates that the motor pulls a weight of 2.2kg when suspended at a distance of 1cm. Incase if you suspend the load at 0.5cm then the motor can pull a load of 4.4kg. These are manufactured within a tight sturdy plastic case which makes them water and dust-resistant. Therefore widely used in RC planes, Boats, and RC Monster Trucks, etc. This digital servo motor consists of a 3-wire JR servo plug which is compatible with Futaba connectors too.
Applications
- Used as actuators in many robots like Biped Robot, Hexapod, robotic arm, etc.
- Steering system in RC toys
- Robots where position control is required without feedback
- Multi DOF robots like humanoid robots
