SIM808 GSM/GPRS/GPS module designed as a miniature IoT modem integrated into a great number of IoT projects. SIM808 from SIMCOM works on frequencies 850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900 MHz which combines GPS technology for satellite navigation, The GSM/GPRS/GPS Modem is having an internal TCP/IP stack to enable you to connect with the internet via GPRS. It is suitable for Tracking, MS, Voice as well as DATA transfer application in the M2M interface and vehicle tracking applications. Using the AT command the baud rate is configurable from 9600-115200.
This sim808 Modem comes with all selectable interfacing voltage, allows connecting 2V8 to 5V, including 3V3. As a result, the Microcontroller was linked directly without the use of any additional level converter devices. The modem has an onboard TXB0104 voltage level converter IC that allows us to interact with 2.8V to 5V microcontrollers. The modem is equipped with an SMD switch to ON/OFF manually in order to start automatically or manually. The modem runs on a 5-12V DC supply, which may be supplied through an onboard RMC connection. The modem is powered by a high current, low dropout linear voltage regulator that can tolerate high surge current requirements (may rise up to 2A).
A Flap-type SIM Socket provided on the bottom side of the board to reduce the PCB size. Â And also the SIM Pins protected from antistatic high voltages using onboard Transient Suppressors. All audio interface connections provided on the RMC connector after necessary filter circuits. For GSM & GPS Antenna, the Modem is populated with an Edge mountable SMA Connector. Apart from that it also consists of an optional UFL connector for external High Gain GSM/GPS Antennas. As per the requirement, Users can select either Patch antenna or External Active antenna for GPS. A highly stable power supply has been provided for an external GSP Active antenna with LNA. The USB connector provided for updating the module Firmware if needed. The onboard LED in the modem provided to indicate modem status.
