SIM800C GSM/GPRS module designed as a miniature GSM modem in an SMT type can be integrated into a great number of IoT projects. This module designed with SIMCOM makes the SIM800 Quad-band GSM/GPRS engine, which operates on frequencies 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, and 1900 MHz. This small size and easy to use as a plug-in GSM Modem. Using the AT command the baud rate is configurable from 9600-115200. And it can transmit Voice, SMS, and data information with low power consumption. Firstly the Modem is in Auto baud mode. Hence the modem needs only two wires (Tx, Rx) except the Power supply to interface with the microcontroller/Host. This advanced version of the module consists of all interfaces included in it.
Sim800C GPRS/GSM Shield with Antenna is defined as a miniature wireless data transmission device. This GSM/GPRS module offers the highest reliability and robustness. As a result widely integrated into a great number of IoT projects. Sim800C GPRS/GSM Shield with Antenna performs a similar function as a normal cell phone can. It can SMS text messages, make or receive phone calls, connect to the internet through GPRS, TCP/IP, and more. Moreover, the module supports quad-band GSM/GPRS network, which indicates that it works pretty much in remote locations.
It is compatible with all boards which have the same form factor (and pinout) as a standard Arduino Board. This shield can also be applied to DIY phones for calling, receiving, and sending messages, making GPS trackers, or other applications like Smart home, etc. Due to its miniature size, it can smoothly fit into the slim and compact demands of customer design. This module consists of a traditional GPRS antenna that is more sensitive while another one is an onboard antenna that is more compact and easy to install.
