A Tap sensor is also referred to as a knock sensor module. It detects the knocks and taps thus producing the Digital output on the detection of Knock i.e. vibration stroke. Further, the change in voltage level is often manipulated to supply the specified output and utilized in a spread of applications. This module consists of a conductive vibration spring, switch body, trigger pin, and packaging agent. It can work sort of as a switch. The Vibrating Spring here is indicated by the switch here.
Under normal conditions i.e. when there’s no shock or vibrations, the output of the Knock Sensor is HIGH. The switch closed when the sensor detects any vibrations or shocks, and hence the output of the sensor (at the output pin) will become LOW. Thus the sensor sends data momentarily to the board. The output pins of the Tap sensor (which is connected to at least one end of the switch) are pulled HIGH with the assistance of a 10KΩ Pull-up resistor. A typical knock sensor consists of the detector, which is usually a conductive vibrating spring, a Resistor, and three Pins.
The Knock Sensor Module consists of three Pins:
- PIN 1: GND
- PIN 2: +5V
- PIN 3: S.
These modules with a digital 13 interface, built-in LED provide an easy circuit to produce a percussion flasher. To stay the LED on, the button phase change codes should be used. Therefore the sensor will work as a switch.
