16 Channel Capacitive Touch Sensor Module used as a touch breakout with TTP229 Capacitive Touch Screen IC. TTP229 IC is the heart of the module with a dedicated touchpad detector chip offering a capacitive touch screen. It operates at a voltage range between 2V to 5.5V and all the touchpad is active to sense the input. The touching detection IC is designed for replacing the traditional direct button key with diverse pad sizes. The module has 4 touchpads. This module is used to sense the touch input, thus making it easy to add the capacitive touch input to our various projects.
TTP229Â 6 Way sensor module also known as Tactile Sensor provides a single integrated touch sensing area of 11*10.5 with a sensor range of 5m. This 6-way channel capacitive touch screen is easy to interface with any microcontroller, Arduino, or even work without any. When a capacitive load comes in contact with the sensor pad, the sensor detects the change in the capacitance. This change in capacitance activates the switches. These custom sense pads are designed from any conducting material and this sensor touch through the layers of a non-conductive material such as glass, plastic, fabric, or even wood.
Under normal conditions, the module output is low, thereby providing low power consumption. When a finger touches the sensing pad, the module output switches to high. If it is not touched for 0.5 sec, it again switches to low power mode. Thus, this Touch Sensor Module can be hidden in a wall or other places, which is a perfect alternative to get rid of the conventional push-button troubles.
