The WeMos lithium battery shield is designed as a means of powering the WeMos mini, or the WeMos mini Pro. This is performed via a single cell (3.7V) lithium battery. The shield consists of a DC-DC converter to step up the batteries from  3.7V to 5V. Thereby supplying your WeMos mini and shields with up to a current  1A of power. Under the condition, when the battery is depleted, simply plug the shield into a USB power source using a mini USB cable. And thus it will automatically recharge the battery. This charging board comes with two onboard LEDs on the shield to indicate when the battery is charging and when charging has been completed. Meanwhile, there is no need to unplug the battery,  when the battery runs out while charging, just use a USB port to charge.
D1 mini can be operated without a USB cable, it’s really wireless now. Put D1 mini anywhere, using this battery shield and a lithium Battery.
