Attendance management plays a crucial role in educational institutes so, when a student is marked present it also implies that he is ‘safe’, ‘sincere”,’ punctual’ and ‘conscientious’. At the same time, attendance marking also plays a vital role in offices also. We are living in a technology-based society where we find lots of innovations day by day, so we are in need of a futuristic and accurate attendance system. Here we design a real-time Biometric Attendance Management system for schools, offices, organizations, etc. These IoT-based systems assist organizations or enterprises in boosting their productivity and optimizing resources.
This smart fingerprint-based biometric attendance system works over IOT so that attendance can be monitored from anywhere in the world. Our system uses a microcontroller-based circuit with a fingerprint sensor, push buttons, power supply, power supply, and wifi modem to interact with an internet-based system. Additionally, the real-time biometric attendance systems utilized for employee attendance possess the capability to analyze gain on invested man-hours.

A biometric attendance machine is a device that is used to verify the identity of a person. The characteristics used to identify a person include fingerprints, voice patterns, iris, face recognition, and hand measurements. These biometrics are unique for every individual and the data in the biometric devices cannot be shared or hacked. It replaces the traditional security method of entering passwords or codes.
In this proposed system, we are integrating IoT into the boring attendance system to make it smart and more effective. Most conventional attendance systems available today store the information over a micro SD card and have to be connected to software via a computer to access the information.
This project is a smart fingerprint-based biometric attendance system that works over IOT so that attendance can be monitored from anywhere in the world. Our system uses an Atmega328 microcontroller-based circuit with a fingerprint sensor, push buttons, power supply, power supply, and wifi modem to interact with the internet-based system. We here use IOT Google SpreadSheet to develop the online attendance display system. Our system allows users/employees/students to first register their fingerprints on the system. After successful registration, the print is stored in a system with class assigned using push buttons.
The system also displays these details over an LCD display. Now as soon as the next time a registered user scans the modem, the system checks for authentication, and authenticated user’s data is transferred online to IoT Platform using the Google SpreadSheet. Now the online system stores and displays the required data to users as per online login. Thus our system allows for remote monitoring of biometric-based attendance from anywhere over IoT.
