The Quad 2-Input AND circuit 74HC08 is packaged in a 14-pin IC package. The 74HC08 has four 2-input AND gates, each with typical push-pull outputs. The 74HC08 is a high-speed CMOS 2 input AND circuit that is manufactured using silicon gate CMOS technology. It operates at a fast speed, similar to Bipolar Schottky TTL. As a result, the CMOS has a low power dissipation. Furthermore, the internal circuit, which includes a buffer output, has four stages and provides high noise immunity and consistent output. An input protection circuit ensures that voltages ranging from 0 to 7 V are frequently delivered to the input pins without regard for the supply voltage. This device is frequently used to connect 5 V to 3 V systems as well as two supply systems such as battery backup. Due to unequal supply and input voltages, this circuit prevents device breakage.
The 74HC logic family is pin-out compatible with the 74LS logic family of high grade. This IC has a supply voltage range of 2V to 6V and only consumes 20uA of current. The 74HC04 inverter IC is built on advanced silicon-gate CMOS technology, which allows it to achieve operating rates similar to LS-TTL gates while consuming less power than conventional CMOS integrated circuits. The buffered outputs of the 74HC08 provide exceptional noise immunity and thus the capacity to drive 10 LS-TTL loads. Internal diode clamps to VCC and ground protect all inputs from static discharge damage.
