Description

The 74HC32 is a quad 2-input OR circuit packaged in a 14-pin IC package. The 74HC32 has four 2-input OR gates, each with typical push-pull outputs. The 74HC2 is a high-speed CMOS two-input OR circuit constructed using silicon gate CMOS technology. It achieves high speed operation similar to analogous Bipolar Schottky TTL while keeping low power dissipation in the CMOS. The 74HC32 allows current limiting resistors to be used to interface inputs to voltages greater than VCC. The gates conduct the Y = A Plus B or Y = A • B Boolean function.

The internal circuit, which is made up of four stages and includes a buffer output, provides excellent noise immunity and output stability. An input protection circuit ensures that voltages ranging from 0 to 7 V are frequently delivered to the input pins without regard for the supply voltage. This device is frequently used to connect 5 V to 3 V systems as well as two supply systems such as battery backup. Due to unequal supply and input voltages, this circuit prevents device breakage.

The 74HC32 logic family is pin-out compatible with the 74LS logic family of high grade. It operates between 2 and 6 volts and draws only 20 microamps of current. The 74HC04 inverter IC uses advanced silicon-gate CMOS technology to achieve operating rates that are practically identical to LS-TTL gates while consuming less power than conventional CMOS integrated circuits. The buffered outputs of the 74HC32 provide exceptional noise immunity and thus the capacity to drive 10 LS-TTL loads. Internal diode clamps to VCC and ground protect all inputs from static discharge damage.
