BMP280 sensor is an upgraded version of BMP085/BMP180/BMP183. This functions as an environmental sensor with temperature, barometric pressure designed explicitly for mobile applications. The sensor module is designed extremely as a compact package. Its small dimensions and low power consumption makes it ideal for battery-powered devices such as mobile phones, GPS modules, or watches.
As its predecessor BMP180, BMP280 was designed based on Bosch’s proven Piezo-resistive pressure sensor technology.
