Description

BMP280 sensor is an upgraded version of BMP085/BMP180/BMP183. This functions as an environmental sensor with temperature, barometric pressure designed explicitly for mobile applications. The sensor module is designed extremely as a compact package. Its small dimensions and low power consumption makes it ideal for battery-powered devices such as mobile phones, GPS modules, or watches.

As its predecessor BMP180, BMP280 was designed based on Bosch’s proven Piezo-resistive pressure sensor technology. It features high accuracy, linearity as well as long term stability, and high EMC robustness. The different functions such as power consumption, resolution, and filter performance makes numerous device operation options offer the highest flexibility.

This sensor is ideal for a wide range of applications in weather sensing and can even be used in both I2C and SPI interface protocols. This BMP280 high-precision sensor is available at an affordable price. It is defined as an ideal precision sensing solution for measuring barometric pressure with ±1 hPa absolute accuracy. And temperature with ±1.0°C accuracy. As the pressure changes with altitude and the pressure measurements are so good, it can be used for altitude measurement with ±1 meter accuracy. Meanwhile, as it supports SPI and I2C protocol can be accessed easily with a microcontroller, Arduino, or similar device.
