This CJMCU-34725 TCS34725 Colour Sensor RGB Module is designed specifically to return digital values for red, green, blue (RGB), and bright light sensing. It comes with a Colour-sensitive photodiode integrated chip and localized infrared light-shielding filter. This light-shielding filter minimizes the infrared spectrum of the incident light, making colour management more accurate. TCS34725 features high sensitivity, a wide dynamic range, and an IR shading filter makes it a perfect colour-sensitive component solution for light conditions and attenuating materials. The sensor also includes four ultra-bright LEDs to allow the sensor to work without external light resources. In addition, the IR blocking filter enables the colour sensors to perform ambient light sensing (ALS). ALS is widely used in display-based products such as smartphones, notebooks, and TVs to sense the lighting environment and enable automatic display brightness for optimal viewing and power savings.
The infrared filter offers a much better truer colour than most sensors since humans don’t see IR. The sensor also provides an incredible 3,800,000:1 dynamic range with adjustable integration time and gain. So these colour sensors are well-suited for use behind darkened glass.
A color sensor is used to measure or detect the colour of the material. Using optical techniques, this sensor detects colours in its surrounding environment. And provides a digital return of red, green, blue (RGB) values. This allows recreating the detected colours using these values. This CJMCU-34725 TCS34725 Colour Sensor comes with an onboard 3.3V regulator so you can power the breakout with 3-5VDC safely and level shifting for the I2C pins. Â So they can be used with 3.3V or 5V logic.
