ESP8266 Wireless IoT Board designed based on an integrated chip specifically to fulfil the needs of a new connected world. It can handle all the necessary overhead for communicating with your network, such as TCP/IP stack and communicating with your 802.11 networks. ESP8266 was designed as a Serial Wifi Wireless Transceiver Module with self-contained SOC and integrated TCP/IP protocol stack. It gives access to any microcontroller to your WiFi network. This Module is capable of either hosting an application or offloading all Wi-Fi networking functions from another application processor. This wireless module is completely addressable over SPI and UART protocols.
This is ESP-12E WIFI Wireless Transceiver Module designed as a small WIFI transceiver. This is the perfect solution for home Automation and IoT applications. It can be the replacement of your NRF24L01, as it can connect the WIFI router directly through the UART MCU’s (Rx, Tx). This module has an onboard LDR and a WS2812 led. The board comes with a CH40 micro USB module to program it. TheESP8266 highly integrated chip, including an antenna switch balun, power management converter, so with minimal external circuitry.
This module has features an onboard 80Mhz low power 32-bit processor used for custom firmware. This means that we can host small web pages without any external controllers ESP8266 also supports APSD for VoIP applications and Bluetooth co-existence interfaces. Using a self-calibrated RF allows it to work under all operating conditions and requires no external RF parts. This module ESP-12 has 7 GPIOs.
Note: The ESP8266 Module is compatible only with the 3.3V logic level and will not work directly with 5V devices (for both serial and GPIO access). You need a 3.3V compatible device or use a level shifter to convert the levels before you use it.
