HC-06 based on Bluetooth Bluetooth SPP (Serial Port Protocol) module designed as Wireless Serial Communication allows use with any microcontroller. Used to establish short-range wireless data communication between two microcontrollers or systems. The module works on Bluetooth 2.0 communication protocol and it can only act as a slave device. This wireless data transmission defined as one of the cheapest and more flexible compared to other methods. HC-06 module transfers data files at speed up to 2.1Mb/s.
The module features a full-duplex serial port that may be used without knowing any Bluetooth protocol later when coupled, however it only allows 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, and no parity communication format, which is the most popular communication format, and does not support alternative forms. When establishing the baud rate allowed by AT commands, names, matching password, and power down to save, the Bluetooth connection is not formed. Following the establishment of a Bluetooth connection, the device immediately switches to transparent mode.
The HC-06 connects to an interface that contains VCC, GND, TXD, and RXD, as well as an LED status output pin. The microcontroller uses the pin state to determine whether or not Bluetooth is connected, and the slave’s KEY pin is invalid. Always signal the Bluetooth port is connected and turned on Backplane 3.3V LDO, input voltage 3.66V, unpaired when the current is roughly 30mA, paired when the current is around 10mA, the input voltage must not exceed 7V! You may directly connect a range of SCM (51, AVR, PIC, ARM, MSP430, etc.) with interface level 3.3V; 5V microcontrollers can also be directly linked, but it won’t work without MAX232!
