Displaying information is one of the crucial steps in electronic projects. So using LCDs has always been one of the most popular ways to display information. This I2C module with 16*2 character LCD consists of an inbuilt PCF8574 I2C chip that connects I2C serial data to parallel data for the LCD display. It is a serial protocol to connect low-speed devices like microcontrollers, EEPROM. A/D and D/A convertors, I/O Interfaces, and other peripherals in the embedded system via a two-wire interface. With this I2C interface LCD module, information is displayed via 2 wires. These modules are supplied with a default I2C address of either 0x27 or 0x3F. If there is a set of 3 pads labelled as A0, A1 &A2 then the default address is given by 0x3F. In case if there is no pad default address will be 0x27.
This I2C module works using an I2C communication interface. Moreover, this module comes with 20 male pins. In which 16 pins faced to the rear side and 4 pins faced towards the front side. The 16 pins used for connecting to 16×2 LCD and the 2 pins out of 4 pins are SDA and SCL. SDA & SCL defines the serial data pin and the clock pin. And the remaining 2 pins for the power supply (Vcc and ground). The backlight and contrast of the display adjusted using the potentiometer with two I2C interfaces connected by a Dupont line or I2C dedicated. The potentiometer is adjusted in such a way that characters are bright and the background does not have boxes behind the character. And also it’s quite simple to work with these LCDs s  and they have full compatibility with all microcontrollers and processor boards.
