The PT2262 is a CMOS-based remote control encoder that works with the PT2272. It converts data and address pins into a serial coded waveform that can be modulated by RF or IR. The PT2262 contains a maximum of 12 bits of tri-state address pins, allowing for up to 531,441 (or 312) address codes, greatly limiting the possibility of code collisions and unwanted code scanning.
When TE is pushed to “0,” PT2262 encodes the code address and data set at A0, A5, A6/D5, and A11/D0 into a specific waveform and outputs it to the DOUT (Low State). For transmission, this waveform is fed to either the RF modulator or the IR transmitter. The RF demodulator or IR receiver receives the transmitted radio frequency or infrared beam and reshapes it into the specific waveform. After that, the PT2272 is utilised to decode the waveform and set the appropriate output pin (s). As a result, a remote control encoding and decoding function is completed.
