The LM2576 3Amp Step-Down Voltage Regulator IC is a monolithic integrated circuit featuring a set of regulators that execute all step-down switching regulator operations. The output voltages of these devices are set at 3.3V, 5V, 12V, and 15V. Depending on the input-output voltage choices, this buck converter lowers down the input voltage from 4V to 40V to any lower output voltage from 1.3V to 27V at a continuous current of 3 A. The output voltage will always be lower than the input voltage since it is a buck converter. For the HV version, the LM2576 is an easy-to-use, nonsynchronous, step-down DC-DC converter with a broad input voltage range. It can also drive a load of up to 3A with great efficiency. But heat sinks used in a certain case when the output current required greater than 2.5(or output greater than 10W). Thus avoid thermal damages.
The switching frequency of the LM2576 step-down regulator modules is 52 kHz. As a result, smaller filter components with lower frequency requirements can be used. Excellent line and load control is provided by the LM2576 3A step-down. Internal frequency correction and a fixed-frequency oscillator are included in this module. As a result, external components are reduced, and power supply design is simplified. It has a 4% output voltage tolerance within defined input voltages and output load circumstances, and a 10% oscillator frequency tolerance.
The external shutdown has a 50-A standby current (typical). The output switch has cycle-by-cycle current limiting and thermal shutdown for complete protection in the event of a failure.
