MPU-9150 GY-9250 based on System in Package (SiP) consisting of combines two chips: the MPU-6050, which contains a 3-axis gyroscope, 3-axis accelerometer, and an onboard Digital Motion Processor (DMP) capable of processing complex 9-axis MotionFusion algorithms; and the AK8975, a 3-axis digital compass. This sensor module communicates using I2C protocol via the serial clock (SCL) and data (SDA). This product comes in a 4x4x1mm LGA package and is upgrade-compatible with the MPU-6050 integrated 6-axis motion tracking device, providing a simple upgrade path and making it easy to fit on space-constrained boards
MPU-9150 measures the acceleration, velocity, orientation, displacement, and many other motion-related parameters of a system or an object. This sensor chip operates at a voltage of 3.3V but a voltage regulator allows to give it up to 5V. The MPU-9150 features a user-programmable gyroscope that allows a full-scale range of ±250, ±500, ±1000, and ±2000°/sec (DPS). Also provides a user-programmable accelerometer full-scale range of +/-2G to +/- 16G. I2C communications at up to 400kHz supported with a VLOGIC pin that defines its interface voltage levels.
This upgraded version of the first-generation device offers a power consumption of only 9.3µA. And a size that is 44% smaller than the older version. The full-scale measurement range of ±1200µT helps alleviate compass placement challenges on complex PCB’s. The module also consists of two auxiliary pins to interface external IIC modules like a magnetometer. Since this IIC address configurable, more than one MPU9150 sensor interfaced to a Microcontroller using the AD0 pin. This breakout board makes it easy to prototype with the InvenSense MPU-9150 by breaking out all the pins you need to standard 0.1″ spaced headers. The board also provides I2C pullup resistors and a solder jumper to switch the I2C address of the device.
