MPU-9250 GY-9250 9-Axis Sensor Module I2C/SPI Communications based multi-chip module (MCM) consisting of two dies integrated into a single QFN package. In this module, One die houses the 3-Axis gyroscope and the 3-Axis accelerometer. And the other die houses the AK8963 3-Axis magnetometer. Hence, the MPU-9250 is defined as a 9-axis Motion Tracking device that combines a 3-axis gyroscope, 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis magnetometer. And an onboard Digital Motion Processor in this module is used to process the 6 axis fusion algorithm. Thus provide a complete 9 axis motion fusion output by accessing the external magnetometer. This sensor module communicates using the I2C protocol via the serial clock (SCL) and data (SDA).
MPU-9250 measures the acceleration, velocity, orientation, displacement, and many other motion-related parameters of a system or an object. This sensor chip operates at a voltage of 3.3V but a voltage regulator on the GY-9250 board allows you to give it up to 5V.  The devices are designed in a 3 mm x 3 mm x 1 mm QFN package. The MPU-9250 features a user-programmable gyroscope that allows a full-scale range of ±250, ±500, ±1000, and ±2000°/sec (DPS). Also provides a user-programmable accelerometer full-scale range of +/-2G to +/- 16G. I2C communications at up to 400kHz are supported with a VLOGIC pin that defines its interface voltage levels.
This upgraded version of the first-generation device offers a power consumption of only 9.3µA and a size that is 44% smaller than the older version. It also includes supporting the accelerometer low power mode with as little as 6.4µA of and it provides improved compass data resolution of 16-bits (0.15 µT per LSB). The full-scale measurement range of ±4800µT helps alleviate compass placement challenges on complex PCB’s. The module also consists of two auxiliary pins to interface external IIC modules like a magnetometer. Since this IIC address is configurable, more than one MPU9250 sensor can be interfaced to a Microcontroller using the AD0 pin.
