The PT2272 is a CMOS-based remote control decoder that works with the PT2262. It contains 12-bit tri-state address pins, allowing for a maximum of 531,441 (or 312) address codes, greatly limiting the possibility of code collision and unwanted code scanning. PT2272 comes in a variety of configurations to meet the needs of every application: changeable number of data output pins, latch or momentary output type.
The waveform is decoded and supplied into the DIN pin by the PT2272. The address, data, and sync bits of the waveform are decoded into a code word. The address specified at the address input pins is compared to the decoded address bits. If both addresses match for two consecutive code words, the PT2272 drives (1) the data output pin(s), whose corresponding data bit(s) is then decoded as a “1” bit, and (2) the VT output to high voltage (high state).
