ADXL335 designed as an integrated, compact, ultra; low power, 3-axis accelerometer with signal conditioned voltage output. It can sense acceleration with a full-scale sensing range of ±3 g. This 3 axis accelerometer measures the dynamic acceleration (motion, shock, or vibration) and static acceleration (tilt or gravity). ADXL335 designed with extremely low noise and power consumption of the only 320uA used to sense motion or tilt(in case of non-moving) in 3 axis.
It contains a polysilicon surface-micromachined sensor and signals conditioning circuitry to implement an open-loop structure made of the silicon wafer suspended freely, which allows it to deflect in any direction when subject to acceleration. Thus, the deflection cause change in capacitance between plates and structure. This change in deflection on each axis measured as the output voltage proportional to acceleration on that axis. Using the CX, CY, and CZ capacitors the bandwidth of the accelerometer at the XOUT, YOUT, and ZOUT pins determined by the user. Depending on the applications bandwidths can be selected with a range of 0.5 Hz to 1600 Hz for the X and Y axes, and a range of 0.5 Hz to 550 Hz for the Z-axis.
In order to interface with different devices of microcontroller, a MOSFET based voltage level circuitry is used this module can sense with a full-scale sensing range of ±3 g. Moreover, the ADXL335 comes in 4 mm × 4 mm × 1.45 mm, 16-lead, plastic lead frame chip scale package.
