Raspberry Pi 5MP (1920p) cameras are defined as super high definition cameras that record class-leading 5-megapixel images with enhanced camera sensors. The 5MP CCTV camera provides a high resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels, with improved image clarity. These custom-designed camera modules for Raspberry Pi 3 Model B are connected using a short ribbon cable. The Raspberry Pi connected to the camera module using the two small sockets on the upper surface of the board. Using the dedicated CSI interface, they connect to the BCM2835 processor. The CSI bus is a higher bandwidth link that carries pixel data from the camera back to the processor with higher data rates.
5MP camera ideal to used outdoors for clear recognition of human faces and plate number, or mounted in drones or a CCTV project for far-away objects view. A 5MP camera even shoots videos providing better images in both clarity and colour quality in the aesthetic. The 5MP camera supports 1080p30, 720p60 and 640x480p60/90 for videos. This camera doesn’t require any adapters thus plugged directly into the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B camera port.
5MP security cameras provide a Digital Zooming feature to some extent. In fact, if you digitally zoom in 5MP digitally zoomed image, will be still clearer than the 2MP (1080p) cameras. For better zooming capability, a 5MP security camera with optical zoom function was adopted. In this, the images are still perfectly clear without quality degraded and destroyed. These are designed with a larger image sensor and onboard fixed focus lens to produce real 5MP pictures, in both clarity and colour performance.
