The TEA2025 designed as a monolithic integrated audio amplifier IC in a 16-pin plastic dual in line package. These IC designed explicitly for portable cassette players and radios, but it can be used to make a pretty decent stereo audio amplifier for an ipod or mp3 player. It requires very few external components and can run on as low as a 3 V power supply.
The device has a maximum gain of 45 decibels. It may, however, be reduced by connecting the feedback pin to the ground with an external RC series circuit. It is strongly advised that the gain not be reduced below 36 dB. Use R=0 and C=100 F between the feedback and the ground to achieve the highest gain. The output signal’s low cut-off frequency (fL) is determined by the load resistance (speaker, RL) and the output capacitor (470 F). The low cut-off frequency will be, if the speaker resistance is 4 ohm.

The TEA2025 also includes a built-in heat protection circuit. If we need to operate it at full capacity (5 W), a heat sink should be included in the circuit. If you don’t, the device’s inherent heat protection will prevent it from being damaged. All that happens is that when an excessive junction temperature is detected, the output power is lowered.
