USB to Serial CP2102 converter is a highly integrated USB to UART Bridge IC used in embedded systems. The USB to serial converter can automatically detect whatever is sent to the user system. And installed as a COM port with an already existing serial communication application. Thus CP2102 creates a virtual COM port using the USB on the PC. And this supports the standard baud rate (300bps-1Mbps) for serial communication. USB TO serial CP2102 converter doesn’t need any external USB components. As it includes a USB2.0 full-speed function controller, USB transceiver, oscillator, EEPROM, and asynchronous serial data bus with full modem control. This is the simplest method for RS-232 device updating with minimum components and PCB space.
The Universal Serial Bus function controller in CP2102 supports a USB2.0 compliant full-speed device with an integrated transceiver and pull up resistors. Thus the USB function controller manages data transfer between the USB and UART. The EEPROM present in CP2102 is used to customize the USB vendor ID, product ID, product description string, power descriptor, device release number, and device serial number as desired for OEM applications. An on-chip 5V to 3V regulator is used to configure either as a USB bus-powered device or a USB self-powered bus. Moreover, these modules are used in all types of interfacing projects in embedded systems that require serial communication to the computer. The CP2102 is used to upload Arduino sketches into your Arduino loaded AVR devices over RDX, TXD, and DR/RST pins of the module. The USB to serial converter comes with 6pin:3.3V, RST, TXD, RDX, GND &5V.
