The VIPER50A designed as a low-power offline switched-mode power supply primary switcher. It combines a dedicated state-of-the-art PWM circuit together with an optimized high voltage avalanche rugged Vertical Power MOSFET (600V or 670V / 1.5A) on the same silicon chip. The internal control circuit of the switcher IC offers certain advantages such as a large input voltage range on the VDD pin. It offers wide range of applications in offline power supply with secondary power capability of 25W in wide range conditions. And 50W in single range or with doubler configuration. This SMPS primary IC is compatible with both primary or secondary regulation loops. Instead of using around 50% fewer components when compared with a discrete solution. Moreover, the Burst mode operation feature of this device offers the possibility to operate in standby mode without extra components.
VIPER50A designed specifically for European mains, providing 30 W on two outputs. The main target of this application is total power consumption less than 1 W (Blue Angel Norm) in standby mode delivering an output power of 400 mW.
