The Protosheild is designed to make easy custom circuits. An Arduino UNO Prototype Shield builds more applications without using any external Breadboard. This Prototyping Shield is designed to facilitate easy prototyping of the Nokia5110 display with an Arduino or an Arduino compatible board. This Arduino proto shield comes with an SMD area for a maximum of 14 pins SOIC integrated circuit. And an IC pattern is provided for adding DIP ICs up to 20 pins. It is quite a simple and easiest method to solder DIP ICs or SMD ICs on the prototyping area to test them with your Arduino board. This LCD display can be easily soldered to the prototyping board so that it can interact with the Arduino. This expansion board used directly, with all of the power leads makes it ideal for building a circuit and Arduino with a prototype.
Nokia 51110 LCD Display module developed for use with the iconic Nokia 5110/3316 mobile phone. It is capable of displaying alphanumeric characters, drawing lines, other shapes, and even displays a bitmap image. All this is possible only because of 84*48 monochrome. Nokia 51110 LCD Display module consists of an inbuilt PCD8544 interface IC which is easy to use with low-level microcontrollers. This module communicates through the DSPI protocol, hence there is no need for more pins to communicate.
This protoshield also comes with a mini breadboard on the proto area for solderless operation. In addition, it consists of a reset button and an extra general use button. A two 3mm LEDs pads and SPI signals breakout pads are provided for boards with SPI only on the ICSP header like Zero. In short, this Nokia5110 display proto shield works with UNO, Mega, Leonardo, NG, Diecimila, Duemilanove, and compatible Arduinos.
