DS1820 Temperature Sensor is defined as a 1-wire programmable digital temperature sensor, with a 9-bit resolution. This temperature sensor is widely used to measure temperature in hard environments like in chemical solutions, mines or soil, etc. The constriction of the sensor is rugged and also can be purchased with a waterproof option making the mounting process easy.
The 1-wire digital temperature sensor offers a fairly precise of ±0.5°C over much of the range. Hence the temperature with a precision of 0.0625 C was measured. It can give output digitally accurate to 9 bits of resolution from the onboard digital-to-analogue converter. The sensor communicates via the dedicated 1-wire protocol. As a result, it requires only the data pin for communication with the central microprocessor. Each one has a unique 64-bit ID burned in at the factory to differentiate them. Thus convert 9-bit data at a maximum conversion time of 20ms.
Moreover, this is the latest DS1820 1-Wire digital temperature sensor operates with 3.0-5.0V systems providing 9-bit precision, at a Temperature measurement ranges of-55C to +125C, be accurate to 0.5C. When used with a microcontroller, a 4.7k resistor is provided to the sensing pin, required as a pullup from the DATA to the VCC line.
