PT2258 SMD is a 6-channel CMOS-based electronic volume controller IC created specifically for the next generation of AV multi-channel audio systems. The PT2258 IC communicates through an I2C Control Interface and features a 0 to -79dB at 1dB/step attenuation range, low noise, and good channel separation. PT2258 6-Channel Electronic Volume Controller IC (DIP or SOP) has 20 pins. The pin assignments and application circuits for this volume controller IC have been improved for ease of PCB layout and cost savings.
Data is sent to and from the CPU to the PT2258 through the SDA and SCL of this IC. The BUS Interface’s SDA and SCL functions. The pull-up resistors should be linked to the positive supply voltage as much as possible.
Data ValidationÂ
- When the SCL signal is HIGH, the data on the SDA channel is deemed stable.
- The HIGH and LOW states of the SDA line changes only when the SCL is LOW.
Start and Stop ConditionÂ

- SDA shifts from HIGH to LOW State.
