Description

The LM382N Dual Preamplifier IC designed explicitly for the low-level signals amplifications in applications requiring optimum noise performance. In this dual pre-amplifier, each of the two amplifiers is completely independent, with individual internal power supply decoupler regulator. And it also provides 120 dB supply rejection and 60 dB channel separation. Moreover, this pre-amplifier IC also include high gain (100 dB), and wide power bandwidth (75 kHz, 20 Vp-p). The LM382 operates at a wide voltage range from a single supply of 9V to 40V. An onboard resistor matrix is provided on the chip allows the user to select a variety of closed-loop gain options and frequency response characteristics such as flat-band, NAB or RIAA equalization. The circuit comes in the 14 lead dual-inline package.

Microphone signals basically operate way below the nominal operating level, so large amount of gain required, usually at a range of 30-60 dB, sometimes even more.
