Description

The LM393 series designed as a dual independent precision voltage comparator with two comparators inside a single 8-pin Dual in-package capable of single or split supply operation. With input offset voltage parameters as low as 2.0 mV, this IC is a good choice for a wide range of consumer, automotive, and industrial electronics applications. Furthermore, this amplifier can work across a broad variety of voltages with a single power source. As a result, standard operational amplifier circuits that must run off a single power rail are extensively used. Split power supply operation is also conceivable, with minimal power supply current drain regardless of power supply voltage magnitude.

These comparators offers a unique characteristic in that the input common-mode voltage range includes ground, even though operated from a single power supply voltage. The output transistor drive loads up to 50V and 50mA. Thus makes it perfect for driving most of the TTL, MOS and RTL loads.  The transistor can also make the Load to be isolated from the system ground.

LM393 Low Power Dual Voltage Comparator IC offers a wide range of applications such as limit comparators, simple analog to digital converters; pulse, squarewave and time delay generators. And also wide range VCO, MOS clock timers, multivibrators and high voltage digital logic gates. Meanwhile, the LM393-N series was designed to directly interface with TTL and CMOS. When operated from both plus and minus power supplies, the LM393-N series will directly interface with MOS logic where their low power drain is a distinct advantage over standard comparators.
