This PL2303 USB to TTL converter module is an integrated USB to TTL UART Converter module. This module consists of the PL2303 Bridge IC designed on basis of Prolific Technology. The PL2303 UART module is a simple solution to update the design of the RS-232 using minimal components and PCB space. PL2303 USB to TTL converter allows asynchronous serial data bus compliant with USB2.0 full-speed function controller, USB transceiver, oscillator, EEPROM, with full modem control. As a result, this module doesn’t need any external components.
PL2303 is used as a standard serial port with Laptops that don’t have a standard serial port. It creates a virtual COM port using the USB on the PC. And this supports a standard baud rate of 300 bps to 1.5 Mbps for serial communication. The LED present in the data lines of the module indicates real-time data transfer status. This module consists of a 500 mA self-recovery fuse used for any protection purpose. PL2303 board is entirely coated by the high-quality transparent heat-shrinkable sleeve. This makes the PCB to insulation state from outside so that the board is not affected by any material shortcut burn.
PL2303 is used with a standard 0.1″ pitch terminal strip to connect directly to UART or I/O pins for easy access to your MCU. This module is compatible with 32-bit & 64-bit Windows, Mac OS 8 to OS X, Linux, and Android. These modules are reserved to operate in 3.3V and 5V pin interface, which makes it easier for the DDWRT of different voltage system that needs power.
