Using CMOS technology, the PT2399 is a single chip echo processor IC. This IC accepts analogue audio input signals, converts them to bitstreams, and stores them in internal 44Kbit RAM. After processing, the bitstream is de-modulated using DAC and a lowpass filter. The internal VCO clock frequency determines the IC’s overall delay time. Also, by altering the external resistance, the user may easily modify the VCO frequency. For audio applications, the PT2399 has low distortion (THD0.5 percent @0.5Vrms) and low noise (No-90dBV), and the pin arrangement and application circuit have been designed for easy PCB layout and cost savings.
The PT2399 is an Echo Processor IC that is often used in audio circuits to produce digital delay. The IC accepts analogue audio input and transforms it to a digital stream of bits, which it then delays digitally. The output of this audio delayed audio signal is subsequently delivered. The PT2399 is a Princeton-made Echo Processor IC from the 1970s. The PT2399 has a number of interesting features.
