This WT588D 16P Voice Sound Audio Player Module operates at a voltage of DC 2.8V-5.5V designed specifically for Arduino Boards. This module is used for playing MP3 and WAV files on a WT588D microcontroller with built-in memory. This module comes with easy-to-use file preparation software, easy download, and simple control of audio playback with decent quality. A PWM output is provided by the module for directly connecting a small speaker. This module is capable of building sound signalling devices, auto-informers, warning devices, answering machines, and much more. The WT588D can hold up to around 270s of sound/speech at its highest quality or 1000s at 6kHz sampling. Moreover, Â it can string individual sounds together to give a wide capability.
This module is capable of setting Up to 220 ‘sequences and Up to 500 segments can be loaded for editing audio. And WT588D modules can be driven in several different ways. In case, If only a few sounds or sound collections are being activated it can be set to be driven by triggering input pins. This 16pin module has scope for 4 inputs whereas the 28pin module has a scope for 11. The sound is stored on an EEPROM played by the module and is capable of driving an eight Ohm speaker at 0.5watts.
In WAV format, the module supports more than 200 sound files. Finally, this module supports  MP3 control mode, control mode button, 3 × 8 key combination control mode, parallel control mode, front-line serial control mode, three-wire serial control mode, and 3-wire serial control I / O port expansion output mode.
