WS2812 is the heart and soul of various products in an electronics system. This is a breakout board designed for WS2812 RGB Led with an integrated WS2811 control IC embedded right into the LED. Here the control IC of an adjustable RGB LED is hidden under the actual LED. All the pins are arranged as 0.1 spaced headers for easy breadboarding. The controller IC communicates with the LED via a one-wire interface. When the output of one LED is connected to the input of others creates a strip of many LEDs. Thus the connection of several breakout boards can form a display. The breakout board produces an output current of 60mA producing 20mA by each colour channel. After being connected in series, each light in the breakout board can control the colour separately.
WS2812 breakout board consists of an intelligent digital port data latch and signal reshaping amplification drive circuit. Also include a precision internal oscillator and a 12V voltage programmable constant current control part, ensuring the pixel point light colour height is consistent. When the pixel power is reset, the DIN port receives data from the controller. Thus the first pixel collects the initial 24bit data and sent it to the internal data latch. The signal reduces to 24bit, after the transmission of each pixel. The internal signal reshaping amplification circuit reshapes the other data and sent it to the next cascade pixel through the DO port. Here the data transfer protocol uses a single NZR communication mode.
