XL4015 5A step down with heat sink module is a DC to DC buck converter step-down power module with a high precision potentiometer. DC-DC Step-Down converts a higher voltage to a lower voltage by stepping up the available current. It is an easy-to-use, nonsynchronous, step-down DC-DC converter with a wide input voltage range up to 36 V. It is capable of driving a load up to 5A with high efficiency. This module consists of a heat sink applied to the XL4015 converter IC. But heat sinks are used in a certain case when the output current required is greater than 4A (when power exceeds 50w). This module also provides a LED display to indicate the power status of the module.
XL4015 5A step-down with a heat sink module takes the higher input at a voltage range of 4V-38V and converts it into lower output voltage 1.25V-36V, thus provides excellent line and load regulation. These step-down regulator modules operate at a switching frequency of 180 kHz thus allows small-sized filter components that require lower frequency. As a result, minimize external components and simplify power supply design. The voltage measurement can be changed within input and output voltage using the potentiometer.
In an XL4015 step-down module, the input voltage always higher than the output voltage. While turning the pot CW increases the output voltage and turning CCW decreases output voltage. XL-4015 consists of a built-in red voltmeter to display the input and output voltage. The two red LEDs marked ‘IN‘and ‘OUT‘ indicate which voltage currently displayed. Moreover, this module features thermal shutdown, current limit protection, and short circuit protection.
