A Float sensor defines as a simple water level indicator. This water level controller is used in a pump, an indicator, an alarm, or other devices. YF-S201 Water Flow Measurement Sensor offers a 1-30Liter/min Flow Rate used with hot waters, cold waters, warm waters, clean water, and dirty water also. These are arranged in line with your water line and consists of a pinwheel sensor to measure how much liquid has moved through it.
YF-S201 works on the principle of the Hall Effect. According to this principle, a voltage difference is induced in the conductor due to the rotation of the rotor. The integrated magnetic Hall Effect sensor in the sensor outputs an electrical pulse with every revolution. Whereas the Hall Effect sensor is protected from the water pipe ensuring the sensor stays safe and dry.
The water flow is calculated by counting the pulses from the output of the sensor. Each pulse is approximately 2.25 millimetres. Hence these Flow meters offers a wide range of application for measuring water flow and is quite easy to build a water management system using the renowned water flow sensor YF-S201. This sensor consists of three wires that can be easily interfaced easily with any microcontroller and Arduino board. It operates at a 5V Vcc supply providing pulse output.
This Water flow sensor includes a plastic valve through which water can pass. A water rotor along with a Hall Effect sensor senses and measure the water flow. As the water flows through the valve, the rotor rotates. As a result. there occurs variation in the speed of the motor. This variation was calculated as output as a pulse signal by the Hall Effect sensor and displayed on the 16*2 LCD display. Thus, the rate of flow of water is measured.
