SCT013 is a current sensor that can measure AC current up to 100 A. This current transformer is a split core type clamp meter sensor commonly used in the measurement of electricity consumption. Here the SCT0013 is clipped straight onto the live or neutral wire of the building without having to do any high voltage electrical work. A main winding, a magnetic core, and a secondary winding make up a current transformer. The main winding is either linked to live or neutral. The primary winding is made up of a number of turns of fine wire inside the transformer’s casing, while the secondary winding is made up of a number of turns of fine wire within the transformer’s casing. This split-core transformer is designed specifically for do-it-yourselfers. With opening and shutting periods of at least 1000 times, it provides higher mechanical strength.
This SCT-013-000 is an AC current sensor that is non-invasive. In a nutshell, a current transformer is a device that measures AC current up to 100 amperes. There is no internal burden resistor in this current transformer. Instead, in the case of an unintentional separation from the load, a transient voltage suppressor restricts the output voltage. Furthermore, SCT013 is capable of producing enough power to completely drive a 5 V input. Finally, this device may be used for current measuring, monitoring, and protection of AC motors, lighting equipment, and air compressors, among other things.
