This Zigbee CC2500 RS232 is designed specifically for wireless communication projects. This Zigbee module improves power output efficiency and data protocol. These modules feature highly reliable and simple communication between microcontrollers, computers, systems, anything with a serial port. Also, Point to point and multi-point networks are supported.
CC2500 data modem designed to be working at 2.4 GHz frequency in half-duplex mode with automatic switching of receive/transmit mode with LED indication. The module comes with separate 3 LED s for Rx, Tx and Power. Also, the serial data is received and transmitted at an adjustable baud rate of 9600/4800/38400/19200 bps at RS232 level for direct interfacing to PC Serial port or such devices. Moreover, this model works perfectly with other 2.4 GHz Sensor embedded models (TTL, 30-meter range) or CC2500 modem widely used for applications that need two-way wireless data transmission. It features a high data rate and longer transmission distance. Thus the communication protocol in the module was designed as self-controlled and completely transparent to the user interface.
CC2500 is designed as a low-cost 2.4GHz Transceiver designed for very low-power wireless applications. It utilizes Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) & all registers of ChipCon can be programmed with one burst transfer. Hence it has a complete On-chip Frequency Synthesizer & no external RF switch or filters are required. Moreover, CC2500 is a proprietary RF IC compliant with the Zigbee platform & as such it is not an Xbee Radio. It works on the same frequency 2.4Ghz & is similar to Xbee.
