Description
A carbon Film Resistor is a resistive element made out of a thin carbon film on a non-conducting material. Axial resistors of this sort are one of the most common. Tolerance, stability, and TCR are all strengths of carbon film resistors. Furthermore, owing to the low voltage coefficient, the resistors have low noise qualities and a good linearity function. As a result, metal film resistors are frequently recommended in circuits where tight tolerance, low-temperature coefficient, and low noise qualities are important. They may be used in a variety of ways, such as active filters or bridge circuits.
The 1 KOhm 1/4 Watt Carbon Film Resistor is a fixed resistor that employs carbon film to confine electrical current to a specific threshold. Resistors of this type are commonly used in electrical circuits. Carbon film resistors are commonly used in high-voltage and high-temperature applications. With a nominal temperature of 350°C, operating temperatures can go up to 15kV. High-voltage power supply, radar, x-rays, and lasers are all examples.
Carbon Fim Resistor is made by depositing a carbon film over a ceramic substrate that serves as an insulator. The carbon coating also blocks electrical current to a certain extent. The insulating ceramic, on the other hand, does not allow heat to pass through, allowing the carbon film resistor to survive high temperatures without being destroyed. Meanwhile, carbon film resistors with tolerance values ranging from 1 ohm to 1 megaohm have an honest tolerance value.
