Description

CD4045B is a crystal oscillator timing circuit that has 21 counter stages, two output-shaping Flip-Flops, two inverter output drivers, and input inverters. There are 21 Flip-Flop counting steps in the CD4045B setup. Two Flip-Flops are also used to shape the output waveform with a 3.125 percent duty cycle. The inverter output drivers provide push-pull operation.

The first inverter meant to used as a crystal oscillator Amplifier. If required, it can also be used as a standard logic inverter. The inclusion of source resistors in a crystal oscillator circuit makes it less susceptible to voltage supply changes. During this time, the p and n Transistors’ sources delivered bent package terminals. The sources must be shorted to their respective substrates if external resistors are not required (Sp to VDD, Sn to VSS).

The primary inverter in CD4045B is used in conjunction with an outboard inverter, such as 1/6 CD4069 and RX, CX. In addition, RS was used to build an RC Oscillator. The following information was used as a guide in determining the RX, RS, and CX values. RX maximum = 10 M, RS maximum = 10 M. And CX is equal to 50 pF. With RS = 560 k and RX = 50 k, CX max = 25 F. There are 16-lead dual-in-line plastic packages (E suffix), 16-lead small-outline packages (NSR suffix), and 16-lead thin shrink small-outline packages (PW and PWR suffixes) available for the CD4045B kinds.).

 

APPLICATION

  • Digital equipment during which ultra-low dissipation and/or operation employing a battery source required.
  • Accurate timing from a crystal oscillator for timing application such as a clock. And digital timing reference in any circuit requiring accurately timing output at various intervals in the counting sequence.
  • Driving miniature Synchrnous motor, stepper motor, an external bipolar transistor in push-pull function
