The DHT11 is a prominently used Temperature and humidity sensor module. DHT11 can be interface easily with any microcontroller like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc., and get instantaneous results. It is a low-cost humidity and temperature sensor that provides high reliability and long term stability. DHT11 module consists of an inbuilt filtering capacitor and pull-up resistor, but for the sensor, you have to use them externally if required. The breakout board used in the module makes installation quite simple.
The module consists of a capacitive humidity sensor and a Thermistor connected to a high-performance 8-bit microcontroller. It measures the surrounding air and outputs a digital signal on the data pin (no analogue input pins needed). DHT11 is strictly factory calibrated that is extremely accurate on humidity calibration, hence easy to interface with other microcontrollers. Using dedicated digital module acquisition technology and temperature, humidity sensors ensure the products with high reliability and excellent long-term stability.
The calibration coefficients stored as programs in the OTP memory, further used for the sensor’s internal signal detecting process. The single-wire serial interface protocol provides system integration quick and easy. Thus its compact size, low power consumption, and up-to-20 meter signal transmission range make it an ideal choice for various applications.
