The Flexi Force Tekscan A101 sensors are designed as the smallest sensor optimized for high volume manufacturing. These sensors are perfect for embedding into different products. These are 2-pin sensors are currently our smallest standard sensor. It can measure up to a force range of 10 lbs. Hence by changing the drive voltage and adjusting the resistance of the feedback resistor, the dynamic range of this mini force sensor can be modified. Thus these small sensors are ideal for integrating into OEM applications. Moreover, it offers a Sensing Area of 3.8mm (0.15 in) diameter.
In order to measure higher forces, it is recommended to apply a lower drive voltage (-0.5 V, -0.25 V, etc.). And thereby reducing the resistance of the feedback resistor (1kΩ min.). Whereas to measure lower forces, a higher drive voltage is applied and increase the resistance of the feedback resistor. Moreover, the output of the A101 Sensor will be a function of many variables, including interface materials. Therefore, Tekscan recommends the user calibrate each sensor for the application. Finally, this thin and highly flexible sensor is ideal for prototyping and integration.
