This Infrared IR Obstacle Avoidance Detector Sensor Module is designed as a non-logic chip oscillation frequency that adjusts the 38KHz detection line. This infrared 38KHZ obstacle avoidance module is capable of completely blocking the detection distance of the traditional photoelectric obstacle avoidance. And also function as the single-shot normally open or normally closed signal output function and can not avoid the infrared light interference of the same module or the remote control. This Infrared IR Obstacle Avoidance Detector offers a maximum detection distance of 2 meters. An onboard potentiometer in the module is used to adjust within this range to shorten the detection range. Stable (latched) receiving distance of 1.2 meters.
The module comes with an infrared tube in which the outer tube has a function of a black heat-shrinkable tube. This infrared tube must be tightly wrapped. Otherwise, the diffused infrared light will interfere with the infrared receiver. Thus directly affect the signal output. By exposing the emitter to the centre of the emission, reducing the emission angle of the infrared emission tube, and can effectively detect obstacles in front of the distance and prevent interference.
When power-on, the red LED on the board flashes 3 times and starts working. When an obstacle is detected in the front distance, the red LED on the board flashes up. Otherwise, it extinguishes, and the SIG pin provides an output low-level signal, and the EN pin must be high. For the sensor to operate, the EN pin defaults to a high level. In case If the JP solder bridge on the board shorted, and the first time the obstacle is detected, the red LED on the board lights up, and the SIG outputs a low level until the front obstacle disappears. Afterwards, the signal evenly latches the previous state, which, keeps the light and low-level signal output; when the obstacle is detected for the second time (even times), the red light on the board goes out. And the SIG changes to high-level signal output.
